The Roughhouse is a sketch comedy group based out of San Jose, CA. They have brought their quick-witted, fast-paced, and sometimes absurd humor to the Bay Area since 2012.
The Roughhouse is a sketch comedy group based in the Bay Area. Formed by Jimmy Snell, Marisa Hankins and Brandon Arnold in 2012. The Roughhouse has brought its carefully cultivated madness and mayhem to numerous venues and festivals, including SF Sketchfest and ShortLived.
Originating as a late night offering at the ComedySportz Theater in San Jose, The Roughhouse quickly outgrew their late night time slot and has performed sold-out shows at venues throughout the Bay Area. You can watch The Roughhouse on the first Saturday of every month at PianoFight Mainstage in San Francisco.
Jimmy is an actor, writer, and improvisor based out of the Bay Area, California. He has studied at ComedySportz San Jose since 2009, and is a member of their house team, as well as a founding member of their house sketch team Laughingstock Sketch Co. Jimmy has performed with various companies around the Bay Area, including Shakespeare Santa Cruz, City Lights Theatre Company, and The Gaslighter, and is a founding member of The Roughhouse.
Marisa is a multi-talented performer in San Jose, and she loves being a part of The Roughhouse. She was a founding member of the Laughingstock Sketch Co. Currently, she is performing on the house team at ComedySportz San Jose. Her work has also been featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (’02, ’05), and Shakespeare Santa Cruz.
Brandon is an improvisor and writer living in San Jose, Ca. He's been performing and teaching shortform and longform improv with ComedySportz San Jose since 2005 and is a founding member of The Roughhouse and Laughingstock Sketch Co. He's studied improv at ComedySportz San Jose and Improv and writing at Second City Chicago. When not writing sketch and designing characters Brandon can be found writing code and designing websites.
Cassie Rosenbrock is a writer, improviser and actor from the San Francisco Bay Area. She has trained and performed with ComedySportz San Jose, is a resident actor with Impact Theatre in Berkeley, was a writer/actor for sketch groups Evil Empire Comedy and Buskirk Chumley and teaches theatre in an after-school program for elementary and middle school students. Once, someone asked her, “Do you work here?” She didn’t, though, sorry.
